Creating and protecting jobs is the hallmark of the Liberal-National Government’s first State Budget, which was delivered on 14th May. In the context of the global financial crisis, as well a the focus on jobs, the Budget also includes record investment in infrastructure projects, health, law and order, and education.

A record $8.3billion infrastructure spend will involve works that affect everyday life, including building 1,000 new public dwellings; building or significantly upgrading 32 schools; new hospitals and care services; more police and police stations; better roads; and more electricity generators.”
The budget also features significant investment in major projects including Oakajee Port; the sinking of the rail line between Northbridge and Perth; the expansion of the Ord for agriculture; and to revitalise the Pilbara.
