SIR CHARLES COURT AK KCMG OBE

We are sorry to inform of the passing of former Premier of WA, Sir Charles Court AK KCMG OBE. Sir Charles was a great friend of Japan and had many friends from his long association with the country. The notice of the funeral and memorial service is below. All are welcome to attend the memorial service on January 4.

STATE FUNERAL/MEMORIAL SERVICE

The Honourable Sir Charles Walter Michael Court AK KCMG OBE

A State Funeral Service will be held for the Honourable Sir Charles Walter Michael Court AK KCMG OBE, former Premier of Western Australia, Treasurer and Minister Co-ordinating Economic and Regional Development (1974 - 1982), Minister for Transport (1965 – 1966), Minister for Railways (1959 – 1967), Minister for Industrial Development and the North West (1959 – 1971) and Member of the Legislative Assembly for the electorate of Nedlands, Parliament of Western Australia (1953 – 1982).

The State Funeral Service will be held at 11.00am on Friday 4 January 2008 in Winthrop Hall at the University of Western Australia. A private cremation will take place before the Service.

Relatives, friends, representatives of organisations and members of the public are welcome to attend the State Funeral Service and are requested to be seated by 10.30am. Ushers will be on hand from 9.30am. Parking will be available on the Riley Oval, off Hackett Drive (Hackett Entrance 1) and James Oval (Fairway Entrance 4).
